Climate Dialogue for Audit Committee Chairs

Climate Dialogue for Audit Committee Chairs

20 October 2022

This virtual Chapter Zero roundtable discussion, in collaboration with Accounting for Sustainability (A4S), is an opportunity for Audit Committee Chairs to benchmark and share best practice with one another on how they are driving climate action on their boards and within the businesses they represent.

The discussion will focus on how audit committees can: forward plan for the reporting year ahead, including internal and external audit considerations; be equipped to communicate with the investor community and respond to regulatory questions on the company’s net zero plans; understand emerging requirements around transition plans; and interact with other board committees, the executive team and auditors to avoid greenwashing and ensure effective climate reporting.

We are delighted to be joined by Julie Brown, Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Burberry plc and former Audit Chair at Roche Holding Limited, and Alan Stewart, Audit Chair at Diageo plc and Non-executive Director at Reckitt-Benckiser plc and Burberry plc, who will Co-Chair the break-out discussion groups. The roundtable overall will be led by Julie Baddeley, Chair at Chapter Zero and experienced non-executive director, and Jessica Fries, Executive Chair at A4S.

This roundtable for Audit Chairs has been created to provide a trusted space for open dialogue between colleagues, bringing together a broad spectrum of perspectives and experiences on addressing climate in the boardroom. As with our other Climate Dialogues, members are encouraged to share their learnings and challenges, and to use this as an opportunity for collaboration.

This peer-to-peer session is for NED members of Chapter Zero who are Chairs of Audit Committees.

Due to the interactive nature of this event, there is a limit to the number of participants we can host at the session. Each registration will be reviewed based on the information provided.
