Maria Luisa has extensive experience in banking, financial institutions, and corporate governance. She worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (London, UK) from 1993 to 2005. Subsequently, she was a Director of Financial Institutions at Merrill Lynch and Head of Financial Institutions at Renaissance Capital in London and Moscow, as well as a Managing Director of Mediobanca (London Branch). During 2014 – 2016, Maria Luisa served as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors at Azimut Global Counseling Srl (Italy) and Azimut International Holding SA (Luxemburg). She previously served as a Chairperson of Moneta Money Bank (listed on the Prague Stock Exchange), and most recently she was a member of the Board of UBI Banca (Italy) ahead of its full merger into Banca Intesa. She is currently a Chairperson of Mobius Investment Trust (LSE-listed), Non-Executive Chairperson of Arafa Holding (Cairo-listed) and a member of the Supervisory Board of TBC PLC (LSE-listed), the largest banking institution in Georgia, where she chairs the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Corporate Governance and Nomination Committee and the Risk Committee.
